The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe have launched an advertising campaign to promote their casinos in Connecticut.
The billboard, print ads and Internet ads are aimed at attracting gamblers who might otherwise visit Atlantic City. The billboards are being placed in New York City, Long Island and northern New Jersey.
"This is quite historic," Michael Speller, the president of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises, which owns Foxwoods Resort Casino, told The Wall Street Journal.
The tribes also set up a website, Play CT Casinos to promote Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
