J.D. Power and Associates released the 2009 Indian Gaming Casino Satisfaction Study on Wednesday.
The study looked at casinos in Arizona and California. In Arizona, Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino, owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community, was ranked highest while the Barona Resort & Casino, owned by the Barona Band of Mission Indians took top marks in southern California and the new Red Hawk Casino, owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, ranked highest in the northern part of the state.
"The highest-ranking Indian gaming casinos combine Las-Vegas-style excitement with the convenience of being local,” said Michael Drago, the director of the global hospitality and travel practice at J.D. Power and Associates. “In the current economic climate, where ‘staycations’ are increasingly popular, Indian gaming casinos are a particularly satisfying entertainment option.”
