The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa
Indians is reviving plans for an off-reservation casino in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The tribe first proposed the casino more than two years ago amid a nationwide debate about off-reservation gaming. But tribal leaders and their developer have been talking to city officials about the idea again.
“Time will tell. We’re more open, more diverse," Mayor Mike Brown told The Grand Forks Herald. "A chance to look at it again is good.”
Other tribes in the state opposed the casino when it was proposed in 2005.
