"n my area of Southwest Michigan there is an over abundance of Indian Casino's with several more already in the works. The problem is there is also an over abundant increase in calls for emergency services in the area surrounding the casino's.
This puts a strain on both the finances of the departments providing the services but, also on the communities who use those same services. Imagine your in the middle of a burglary at your home and the police cannot come to your rescue because they are at the local casino on a major call.
What will happen when these increased costs outweigh the intent of the Local Revenue Sharing Board of the Tribe involved? In just one small area the number of calls jumped rather dramatically and so did the costs associated compared to the budgets allotted. "
