The Seneca Nation plans to open a temporary casino in the Catskills region of New York, the tribe's gaming partner said.
Once the tribe wins Congressional approval, a temporary facility could be open within five months of breaking ground, executives from Rotate Black said. A permanent casino, with 6,000 slot machines, 120 table games and a 1,500-room hotel, could be finished in two years.
"We are ready to go," CEO John Paulsen told local lawmakers, The Middletown Times Herald-Record reported.
The tribe has agreed to pay local communities between $15 million and $20 million for six years.
