The Seneca Nation approved an agreement to pay local communities for an off-reservation casino in the Catskills region of New York.
The tribe agreed to pay between $15 million and $20 million a year for six years to Sullivan County and other communities. "This is the first big step in our goal of bringing Class III gaming to the Catskills," President Barry E. Snyder Sr. said in a statement quoted by The Buffalo News.
The tribe is seeking Congressional approval to open the casino rather than go through the nterior Department.
