The Twentynine Palms Band of Mission Indians has fired the general manager of the Spotlight 29 Casino in southern California.
Raymond DelFiandra said he was told about the decision on Monday. His administrative assistant was also let go.
DelFiandra said declining revenues at the casino were probably a factor in his removal. “Everyone's business is down,'' DelFiandra told The Palm Springs Desert Sun. “I'm sure it's all part of it: They wanted to restructure some things, so they did.”
Dean Mike, a former tribal chairman, will serve as general manager until a replacement is hired, a spokesperson told the paper.
