Bartenders at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut voted against joining a union on Wednesday.
The United Food and Commercial Workers Union sought to represent bartenders, bar porters and beverage servers at Foxwoods Resort Casino. But the vote failed by 207 to 133, The Norwich Bulletin reported.
A union has formed among card dealers at the casino but they agreed to organize under tribal law rather than federal law.
