The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut continues to promote plans for a commercial casino in Massachusetts. The tribe operates Mohegan Sun on its reservation. The facility has been successful but has been hit hard by the recession. Despite a drop in revenues, casino executives say the New England gaming market is posed for growth. They are targeting western Massachusetts for a gaming facility. "The recession will end," said Jeffrey E. Hartmann, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Mohegan Sun Tribal Gaming Authority, The Palmer Republican reported.
