Muscogee Nation set for debut of $195M casino
Monday, March 30, 2009
The Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma will open a $195 million casino to the public tomorrow. The tribe broke ground on the River Spirit Casino four years ago. "I've been in it from the beginning," Chief A.D. Ellis told The Tulsa World. "To see it finished is amazing." The 300,000 square-foot casino features more than 2,000 gaming machines, 24 table games, 15 poker games, four dining venues and a VIP lounge. A parking garage will open in August and work will begin on a hotel this summer. "It's exciting to open a project of this nature, but to know the tribe is planning more is even better," marketing director Jennifer Cross told the paper. Get the Story:
