The economy is down and people are out of jobs but the Salt River
Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona is hiring.
Construction on the new Casino Arizona has put 1,000 people to work. Another 600 will be hired this year.
“We’ve had our share of business challenges just like everybody else. The real challenge is how you address that,” a casino executive told KPHO-TV.
The tribe secured funding for the $400 million project before the economic meltdown.
