The board of supervisors in Yuba
County, California, agreed on Tuesday to send a letter
to the Bureau of Indian Affairs that speaks favorably of the proposed Enterprise Rancheria
casino.
The letter says the casino will generate 1,933 permanent jobs, 1,300 temporary jobs and "additional spin off jobs." It estimates $32 million a year in payroll and benefits for employees.
Some supervisors tried to add language to the letter to acknowledge negative impacts of the casino. Some residents also spoke against the project.
