Officials in Glendale, Arizona, are voicing concerns about the proposed Tohono O'odham Nation off-reservation casino.
A staff analysis says the casino won't benefit the local community as the tribe suggests. Officials also say the city doesn't have the infrastructure to support a large gaming facility, which could have an effect on other development projects.
"Our preliminary analysis doesn't bear out that this would be good for Glendale," City Manager Ed Beasley told The Arizona Republic.
Tohono O'odham Chairman Ned Norris Jr. said the tribe wants to meet with the city to address any issues.
