The Little River Band of Ottawa
Indians is waiting for approval for an off-reservation casino in Michigan.
The tribe submitted a land-into-trust application for 40 to 60 acres in Muskegon. The site is about 80 miles from the reservation.
The tribe is following the two-part determination process of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. The casino will require the state governor's approval.
