The new casino owned by the Shingle Springs
Band of Miwok Indians sees an average of 19,000 visitors a day, an executive said.
The Red Hawk Casino opened to large crowds on December 17, 2008. But planning by the tribe, local officials and the state has kept traffic flowing smoothly.
"If it hadn’t been planned, we would have got the worst, but we got the best," Sgt. Bryan Golmitz of the El Dorado County sheriff’s office told The El Dorado Hills Telegraph.
Authorities are worried about a rise in crime but so far they haven't noticed anything.
