The Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians says it won't give into the demands of a county over the proposed expansion of its casino in northern California.
The tribe already contributes $5 million a year to Yolo County to address the impacts of the Cache Creek Casino Resort. The county is demanding another $3 million a year and $20 million in road improvements.
"The tribe stands by its offer, which, if accepted, would open the door to a project that would employ hundreds of county residents and provide economic benefits to all of Yolo County," the casino's general manager said in a statement.
The issue could head to arbitration if both sides can't reach an agreement.
