Mohegan Tribe denies rumors of casino layoffs

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut says it won't be laying off casino employees.

A public relations manager at Mohegan Sun denied reports that 500 jobs were cut. She acknowledged some positions were not filled due to attrition.

The casino saw a big drop in revenue in 2008. The tribe suspended a major expansion of the facility and has cut salaries of all 9.800 employees in a bid to prevent layoffs.
