Little Traverse Bay Bands makes casino layoffs

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians laid off 80 more employees at its Michigan casino.

The cuts at the Odawa Casino Resort are the second the tribe has made in five months. Officials cited the economy as one of the factors.

“We always regret when we have to let people go,” Chairman Frank Ettawageshik told The Petoskey News-Review. “Our goal is to have everything in order, and as soon as possible, bring people back from lay offs, but that has to do with what will happen with the economy the next few months.”
