Economy an issue at California gaming conference

The economy will be high on the agenda at the 14th annual Western Indian Gaming Conference this week.

California Nations Indian Gaming Association initially thought about focusing on energy policy, a spokesperson said. But the nation's economic woes are taking precedence.

"That will be an overall theme," spokesperson Susan Jensen told The Riverside Press-Enterprise.

The conference takes place in Palm Springs.
