The Red Lake Nation of Minnesota broke ground on an expansion of one of its casinos.
The new Seven Clans Casino will replace a smaller facility. It will be the closest of the tribe's casinos to Bemidji, the largest city in the area.
"We have three small operations, but we seem to be doing all right," l Chairman Floyd Jourdain told MinnPost.Com. "We haven't been so affected by what's happening with the economy."
The casino expansion, along with other projects, are being funded by a $31 million loan from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, a generous Minnesota tribe.
