Gaming revenues see huge decline in Nevada

Gaming revenues in Nevada took another big hit in October, the state Gaming Control Board reported.

Gross casino revenue fell 22.3 percent compared to October 2007. In Las Vegas, which generates more than half the state total, revenue fell 25.7 percent.

The souring economy is to blame for much of the decline, an analyst said. Tribal gaming facilities in northern California near Sacramento also draw visitors away from Reno, Nevada, casinos.
