Saginaw Chippewa casino employees seek buyout

More than 100 gaming employees want to take a buyout offer from the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan.

The tribe offered the buyout to full-time employees at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. Those who are accepted will receive a lump sum, based on the number of years on job, plus a lump sump to cover health care costs.

The tribe has said it will determine whether layoffs are necessary after the voluntary buyout period is complete.

The tribe is continuing to full other positions at the casino.
