Lawsuit filed over revenue-sharing in Michigan

Two public school districts and a public college in Michigan have filed a lawsuit over the distribution of gaming revenues from the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.

The plaintiffs say they deserve more money from the Odawa Casino Resort. They want their share of payments to be based on the current value of the gaming property instead of its value at the time it was taken into trust.

In related revenue-sharing news in Michigan, the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Indians is being asked to attend meetings to determine how local governments will share in money from the Four Winds Casino.
