Pokagon Band makes new revenue-sharing deal

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and the state of Michigan agreed to revisions to the revenue-sharing provisions in the tribal-state compact.

The compact requires the tribe to share 8 percent of revenues to the state. But payments were held up due a dispute over the state's Keno game.

The tribe has agreed to pay $15 million immediately to the state to settle the dispute. The revenue-sharing level at the Four Winds Casino will drop to 6 percent.

But if the tribe opens any new casinos, the tribe will share 8 percent from those facilities.
