Connecticut casinos report drop in slot revenues

September was another bad month for the two tribal casinos in Connecticut.

Slot machine revenues dropped 16 percent at Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The Mohegan Tribe, owners of Mohegan Sun, reported a 13 percent drop.

“(September) could be the worst month ever for the gaming industry,” Mohegan Sun President and Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Etess said, The Norwich Bulletin.

Foxwoods is laying off 700 people due to the economy. The Mohegans shut down a $734 million casino expansion.
