Cherokee Nation holds Indian-only casino job fair

The Cherokee Nation is holding an Indian-only job fair next month.

The tribe wants tribal members and other Indians to get a first shot at 1,000 new jobs at the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa. "There are some jobs that you just want citizens of your own country doing," a spokesperson told The Oklahoman.

Tribal and Indian preferences in employment have been upheld as legal by the U.S. Supreme Court.
