County responds to Cowlitz Tribe casino study

Commissioners in Clark County, Washington, submitted a 32-page response to the environmental impact statement for the casino sought by the Cowlitz Tribe.

The county says the Bureau of Indian Affairs failed to address all of its concerns, such as economic impact, traffic and health and safety.

The BIA is moving to acquire 152 in trust for the tribe, which plans to build a $510 million Cowlitz Casino Resort.

Comments on the EIS are due August 11.
