Connecticut's two federally recognized tribes each reported about a 9 percent drop in slot machine revenues for the month of June.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, owners of the Foxwoods Resort Casino, reported $63.6 million in revenues last month. That's down from $69.8 million in June 2007.
The Mohegan Tribe, owners of the Mohegan Sun Casino, reported $67.8 million in revenues last month. That's down from $74.5 million in June 2007.
Gaming executives attributed the decline to the unstable economy and high gas prices. Both tribes have undergone or are undertaking major expansion of their casinos.
