Wisconsin tribes see boost in gaming revenues
Tribes in Wisconsin saw an increase in gaming revenues in 2007, according to the latest figures from he National Indian Gaming Commission. Eleven tribes operate 25 casinos in the state. They are part of a region that saw a 3.6 percent boost in revenues. From 2002 through 2006, the tribal revenue grew from $1 billion to $1.3 billion, according to the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau. That was a 24.4 percent increase. Overall, the tribal gaming industry great 5 percent in 2007. Total revenues were $26 billion, up from $24.9 billion in 2006. Get the Story:
