The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma has no plans to ban smoking on the gaming floor at its casino in Kansas City, Kansas. The tribe has an agreement with local governments to abide by local codes and ordinances. But second chief Billy Friend, said it doesn't extend to a smoking ban that was approved by city voters. “We're still a sovereign government," Friend told The Kansas City Star. Friend said the tribe might agree to the ban if it were part of a compact with the state. The restaurant at the casino is smoke free.
