Cherokee Nation reports $111M in gaming profits

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma reported profits of $111 million in gaming profits for fiscal year 2007.

The tribe took in $418.6 million at its casinos. Of that, $20.4 million went towards compact fees, $119.4 million went toward payroll, and $167.2 million went toward operating expenses.

That left the tribe with $111.6 million in profit. Of that. $33.7 million went toward governmental services and $77.9 million went towards expanding the casinos.

The figures show dramatic growth from just a few years ago. In 1999, the tribe saw less than $5 million in gaming profits.
