Tohono O'odham Nation casino has most slot machines
The Tohono O'odham Nation's newest casino has the most slot machines of any single facility in Arizona. The $125 million Desert Diamond Casino and Hotel opened last October. It features 1,089 slot machines, a bingo hall, smoke-free gaming rooms, a conference center and a 148-room hotel. "I love this place - it is beautiful, beautiful," Norma Zavalza, a regular at the casino, told The Arizona Republic. The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community operates the Casino Arizona with 1,026 slot machines. The Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino, owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community, has 1,013 slot machines.
