Mashantucket Tribe continues to challenge union

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut continues to challenge the application of federal labor law at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.

The tribe says the National Labor Relations Act doesn't apply on the reservation. But the National Labor Relations Board, backed by a federal appeals court, has said it will apply the law in certain circumstances.

The tribe tried to stop the United Auto Workers from organizing card dealers. The International Union of Operating Engineers is now trying to represent physical plant workers.
