Hazel Hindsley, the chair of the St. Croix Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, will testify at the House Natural Resources Committee hearing next week.
Hindsley's tribe is pursuing an off-reservation casino in Beloit, Wisconsin. It faces potential rejected due to the Bush administration's new land-into-trust policy.
The tribe is suing the Interior Department over the policy change. Hindsley is urging other tribes to support the effort by writing their Congressional delegation.
The House hearing takes place Wednesday, February 27, at 11am.
