Groups pray to stop Ponca Tribe's casino

Religious groups have launched a prayer drive against the Ponca Tribe's proposed casino in Iowa.

Dozens of people from more than 20 different Christian groups went to the casino site in Carter Lake to oppose the casino. They hope their prayers will stop the tribe from moving forward.

The tribe, based in Nebraska, plans to use a 5-acre site in Carter Lake for a casino. The tribe previously said it would not engage in gaming but changed its mind and won a favorable decision from the National Indian Gaming Commission.

Carter Lake is part of the tribe's Congressionally-designated service area. The city is completely surrounded by the state of Nebraska due to the shifting of the Missouri River.

The state of Nebraska has sued the NIGC to overturn the ruling .The state of Iowa is also considering a lawsuit.
