Seminole Tribe expands casino with Class III games
Monday, December 15, 2008
The Seminole Tribe of Florida continues to add Class III games to its casinos despite a dispute over the tribal-state compact. The tribe added slot machines and table games to the Seminole Casino Immokalee. But some state officials say the table games are illegal, a position refuted by the tribe "The National Indian Gaming Commission will be the ultimate decider," attorney Barry Richard told The Fort Myers News-Press. "They'll be the ones who decide if the Seminole's can have Class III gaming." Since adding the games to the Immokalee casino, the tribe has hired 125 new employees. As part of $12 million expansion, which will double the size of the facility, the tribe is expected to hire 400 more employees. Get the Story:
