Nottawaseppi Huron Band busy building casino

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Indians is pouring millions of dollars into the Michigan economy with its first gaming facility. Work on the $300 million FireKeepers Casino began in May. Local firms are getting a big share of the construction business. "This local project has helped keep our company going and afloat in West Michigan," an executive with one firm told The Kalamazoo Gazette. The casino is scheduled to open in summer of 2009.
