A survey by the American Gaming Association finds a positive outlook for tribal casinos, 29 years after the passage of the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988.
The Future Watch Series was released during the Global Gaming Expo last month. Amid reports of a gloomy economy, respondents felt tribal casinos would be less affected by the downturn.
Tribal casinos took in about $26 billion last year, compared to $34 billion for commercial casinos in 12 states.
Respondents say tribal gaming will outgrow commercial gaming in a matter of years.
