The Navajo Nation says its first casino is exceeding expectations.
The Fire Rock Casino opened last week near Gallup, New Mexico. President Joe Shirley Jr. said patrons put $1.2 million into slot machines on the first day alone.
The tribe expects to see $32 million in revenues a year from the facility. Other casinos are being planned in New Mexico and Arizona.
