The Fort Mojave Tribe is hoping voters in Needles, California, will support an off-reservation casino at the polls today.
The tribe wants to build a casino on 300 acres just outside the city. Plans call for a 125,000 square-foot facility with up to 1,500 slot machines.
The tribe already signed a compact that would allow gaming at the site. Now all that's needed is federal and state approval for the land to be placed in trust.
The tribe operates gaming facilities in Arizona and Nevada.
