The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona is spending $400 million on a new casino resort.
Casino Arizona will feature a 240,000 square-foot gaming floor, a 497-room hotel, eight restaurants, 10 lounges and a 750-seat showroom. The project will take two years to complete.
"The people of this community have worked a long time for this," President Diane Enos said at an October 15 topping-off ceremony for the hotel, Arizona Business Gazette reported.
