NIGA to hold mid-year meeting at Isleta Casino
Friday, September 26, 2008
The National Indian Gaming Association is holding its mid-year session in New Mexico next week.
The meeting takes place October 1-3 at the Isleta Casino and Resort. The facility is owned by Isleta Pueblo and is located south of Albuquerque.
The National Indian Gaming Commission will attend to discuss the agency's government-to-government consultation process. "We intend to evaluate the current policy and enhance this process to ensure that the gaming tribes have appropriate input during policy decisions being considered by the NIGC,” Chairman Hogen said. “It’s vital that tribes have an understanding of our thought processes and we understand theirs."
