The Florida Supreme Court won't rehear a lawsuit that invalidated the Seminole Tribe's Class III gaming compact.
The court voted 6-1 to deny a request by Gov. Charlie Crist (R) to rehear the case. In July, the court ruled that Crist overstepped his authority by signing an agreement that allowed the tribe to offer Class III games that the court said aren't legal in the state.
The ruling came after the Bureau of Indian Affairs approved the compact. The tribe has continued to offer card games, which were at issue in the lawsuit, in addition to slot machines.
