Layoffs at Little Traverse Bay Bands casino
Tuesday, August 12, 2008
The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians is laying off as many as 100 full-time and part-time employees at its casino in Michigan. The downturn in the economy has affected the Odawa Casino Resort. "We were ultimately forced to face the reality of too many employees serving too few customers," general manager Sean Barnard told The Petoskey News-Review. Chairman Frank Ettawageshik said the tribe remains in good financial shape but elder Warren Petoskey doesn't think so. Petoskey said tribal members want to know more about gaming profits.
