A Mississippi casino boat being backed by the Lac du Flambeau Band of
Lake Superior Chippewa of Wisconsin is on track for an opening in early 2009.
The tribe is a partner in the Grand Soleil Casino
Resort in Natchez, a facility that features slot machines, table games, 125 hotel rooms and a restaurant. The main hotel will open in the first week of October.
The project has been controversial for the tribe. Some members say it has strained the tribe's financial situation.
