Nottawaseppi Huron casino set for 2009 opening

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Pottawatomi Indians says its casino in Michigan will open in the summer of 2009. The $300 million, 236,000 square-foot FireKeepers Casino is located near Battle Creek. It will include two restaurants, a coffee shop and sports bar and a 2,100-car garage. "Everythigng's on track," spokesperson Donna Halinski told The Grand Rapids Press. "Things are going very smoothly." The tribe began work on the facility in May. The Bureau of Indian Affairs finally acquired 79 acres in trust for the tribe after years of litigation. Get the Story:
