The Navajo Nation Council approved $650,000 for the tribe's second casino.
The facility will be located in Tse Daa Kaan, New Mexico. The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise will use the money to buy a modular building for a Class II facility there.
Delegate Ervin Keeswood, who represents Tse Daa Kaan, said the market supports a small casino in the community. He pointed out that the tribe's compact with the state of New Mexico expires 2015.
The tribe plans to open its first casino in Churchrock, New Mexico, this fall.
