Democratic lawmakers in Washington have rejected a Republican-request probe of gaming compacts signed by Gov. Chris Gregoire (D).
Republicans complained that Gregoire killed a compact with revenue-sharing after being lobbied by tribes that opposed the deal. The tribes have since contributed more than $650,000 to Gregoire and the state Democratic party.
Democrats said the probe was politically motivated.
