The United Auburn Indian Community of California will begin construction on a major expansion of its casino.
The Thunder Valley Casino will see more gaming space, a poker room, a 5,000-car parking structure, three restaurants, a 650-room hotel and a 3,000-seat performing arts center.
“Today, we have one of the most successful casinos in the United States,” said casino CEO Scott Garawitz, The Lincoln Messenger reported. “But this is nothing compared to where the tribe wants to take it.”
The project is expected to be complete by summer 2010.
