The Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado plans to open its new casino later this year.
The Sky Ute Casino Resort includes 45,000 square-feet of gaming space with about 700 slot machines, 10 table games and a bingo hall. A hotel, bowling alley, indoor pool, retail and several restaurants are also part of the facility.
The tribe expects to hire between 500 and 600 new employees. With gas hitting $4 a gallon, the casino's general manager said transportation of workers is an issue.
